JOIWAY Donation for Panti Asuhan Tebet in South Jakarta
Saturday, April 1, 2023 - JOIWAY Indonesia through its Corporate Social Responsibility (JOIWAY Peduli) section continues to run the "Start from the Good" campaign. On this occasion, which coincided with the month of Ramadan, the JOIWAY Peduli team came to the Panti Asuhan Anak Tebet in South Jakarta.
Addressed at Jl. Tebet Raya No. 69, RT. 14/RW. 1, Tebet Bar., Kec. Tebet, City of South Jakarta, DKI Jakarta 12810, Panti Asuhan Anak Tebet was officially established in 1999 in Kebon Baru, Tebet. At that time, Indonesia was hit by a financial crisis which resulted in many parents being laid off & their children dropping out of school while some of them becoming street children. Concerned about these conditions, the founder of the orphanage created an initial program "Free Schools Equivalent to Middle & High Schools" that brought up around 230 students at that time.
Then finally in 2003, the Tebet Children's Orphanage was inaugurated on behalf of the Future Youth Foundation. The initial mission was to accommodate free school students, some of whom did not have homes and parents or were orphans and street children.
The Tebet Children's Orphanage currently accommodates a total of 46 children, consisting of children who no longer have parents (orphans and street children). They are sent to school by the foundation up to high school level. After graduating from high school, the children who want to continue on to college are expected to go independent or get their own scholarship.
Coinciding with the fasting month of Ramadan, the JOIWAY Peduli team held an iftar activity together, with several JoIFans (JOIWAY device users) and employee representatives. In addition to breaking the fast together, the JOIWAY Peduli team also provided donations to the foundation in the form of groceries such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, egg tea, egg noodles, and milk for the children there. After that, the team also spent time playing with the children and chatting and getting to know everyone in the orphanage, before ending the activity with a group photo.
