JOIWAY Donation for Panti Asuhan Alqi Ceria in Bogor
Sunday, March 5, 2023 JOIWAY Indonesia through its Corporate Social Responsibility division (JOIWAY PEDULI) continues to run the "Start from the Good" campaign. On this occasion, the JOIWAY Peduli team visited the Alqi Ceria Orphanage (Akbar ALQI) Orphanage in Bogor.
Addressed at Jl. Cendawan No.12, RT.01/RW.08, Ciparigi, Kec. North Bogor, Bogor City, West Java, the Alqi Ceria Orphanage was officially established in 2008 and is managed by husband and wife (Mr. Edi and Mrs. Maya) and their families. Their journey in managing the orphanage foundation began in 1998 until they moved to a new building in 2015.
The children's activities in the orphanage include formal education, religious education such as reading the Koran, sports activities, and various skills training. For daily operational needs, the foundation uses funds independently from its own family and donations from the surrounding community as well as funds from donors. Apart from that, the children also use their expertise in sewing clothes and making souvenirs as operational support.
Currently, there are 45 children occupying the Alqi Ceria Orphanage, consisting of children aged 6-18 years and a few infants. Most of the children who live at the orphanage were indeed left behind by their parents, while the others were found on the street from police reports. Some of the children came from parents who gave birth at a midwife clinic but did not return to bring their babies home, and some babies were even placed in a box in front of the management's office.
Ahead of the fasting month of Ramadan, the JOIWAY Peduli team provides basic food assistance such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, egg tea, egg noodles, frozen food and snacks and milk for the children in the orphanage. After that, the team also chatted with the caretakers and got to know the children before concluding the activity with a group photo.
