JOIWAY Donation for Pondok Yatim & Dhuafa in West Jakarta
Friday, 27 January 2023 - JOIWAY Indonesia through its Corporate Social Responsibility section (JOIWAY PEDULI) continues to run the "Start from the Good" campaign. This time the JOIWAY Peduli team came to the Pondok Yatim & Dhuafa in the Tomang area, West Jakarta.
The orphanage is located at Jl. New Gelong 8A, RT.11/RW.2, Tomang, Kec. Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta 11440. Currently, the dormitory at that location is inhabited by 10 children from various regions.
Pondok Yatim & Dhuafa itself has a total of 300 children spread across 20 dormitories in the JABODETABEK area. There, the children are sent to school by the foundation up to high school and donors are looking for school fees. Children who have graduated from high school are also assisted to get scholarships so they can continue to diploma or undergraduate level.
Pondok Yatim & Dhuafa also has an internal productive economic program, which essentially provides skills training for children so they can work immediately after graduating from school. So far, a number of orphanage children have left and found jobs. Some of them returned to the foundation to serve as teachers or volunteers to help the foundation's operations.
The JOIWAY Peduli team made donations in the form of toiletries such as (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush), cleaning supplies such as (toilet brush, laundry soap, dish soap, dishwashing wire brush, floor cleaner), groceries (rice, cooking oil, chicken nuggets, milk, granulated sugar, yakult), and sanitary napkins. After handing over the donations, it was continued by talking with the management regarding the daily life of the orphans.
