JOIWAY Donation for Bina Harapan Orphanage in Bogor
Saturday, 4 February 2023 - JOIWAY Indonesia through its Corporate Social Responsibility section (JOIWAY PEDULI) continues to run the "Start From the Good" campaign. This time the JOIWAY Peduli team together with employee representatives visited Bina Harapan Orphanage located on Jl. Gen. Sudirman No.7, RT.04/RW.03, Pabaton, Central Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java 16121.
This orphanage which has now been officially registered & accredited has been established since the Dutch colonial era, in 1932 to be precise. It started as a dormitory to accommodate Dutch children, then was continued by the foundation which currently oversees the orphanage. The source of income for the Bina Harapan Orphanage comes from self-help funds and donor funds, which are mostly used school tuition for the children living there.
Currently, this orphanage is inhabited by a total of 18 children, divided into 9 boys and 9 girls. There, the children are sent to school by the foundation until they graduate from high school, and some children also continue their education up to college level, be it a diploma or bachelor's degree. Some of the dormitory children have graduated from school or college and have gotten jobs. Some of them also returned to the foundation to devote themselves as teaching staff or as volunteers to help the foundation's operations.
The JOIWAY Peduli team made donations in the form of toiletries such as soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies such as laundry soap, dish soap, floor cleaners, and basic necessities (rice, cooking oil, chicken nuggets, eggs). Apart from handing over donations, the JOIWAY Peduli team also carried out joint activities with the children in the orphanage, such as singing and playing games.
Before saying goodbye, the JOIWAY Peduli team was offered a treat and snacks by the management. The dormitory administrators are very grateful for the team's visit to the orphanage which gave joy, motivation, enthusiasm as well as support and enlightenment for the children to continue to be able to achieve their goals.
