JOIWAY Donation for Panti Yatim Indonesia in Tanah Sareal, Bogor



Thursday, 9 February 2023 - JOIWAY Indonesia through its Corporate Social Responsibility division (JOIWAY PEDULI) continues to run the "Start from the Good" campaign. This time the JOIWAY Peduli team together with employee representatives visited the Panti Yatim Indonesia  at the Tanah Sareal branch, Bogor to provide donations.

Located at Jl. Heulang No.9, RT.04/RW.05, Tanah Sareal, Kec. Tanah Sereal, Bogor City, West Java, the orphanage is one of 3 branches in Bogor, with the head office located in Bandung, West Java. The orphanage in Tanah Sareal itself is a rented building that has been occupied for 4 years, and is currently being held by 3 administrators.

This orphanage can accommodate a maximum of 20 children, and is currently occupied by 10 children. Most of the children living in the orphanage are elementary school children. After graduating from elementary school, the children will continue their education to Islamic boarding schools for junior high to high school levels. Panti Yatim Indonesia is working with various Islamic boarding schools in West Java to accept their boarding children. After graduating from high school, boarding children will serve a one-year service period to help the orphanage, either as caretakers or lecturer for the children.

The majority of donations received by the Panti Yatim Indonesia came from community donations, either online or from local residents who came directly to the orphanage. Donations are then handed over to the headquarter to be distributed evenly to all branches. Apart from receiving donations, the Indonesian Orphanage also has an assistance program for orphans and poor people in various regions. The foundation also actively participates in disaster response, such as during the Cianjur earthquake last year by opening an on-site relief post.

The JOIWAY Peduli team started the activity at the Tanah Sareal branch of the Panti Yatim Indonesia by having lunch with the children and caretakers. After lunch, JOIWAY Peduli also did various activities with the children in the orphanage, such as playing games, fun chit-chats and short interviews about their goals for the future.

The donations given were in the form of food packages containing rice, sugar, oil, corned beef, instant egg noodles, and so on, as well as frozen food and hygiene products such as bath soap, shampoo, laundry soap, floor cleaners, and others. Mr. Danang, as the representative of the JOIWAY Cares team, handed over the donations to the management and read a prayer.

The JOIWAY Peduli activity in the orphanage ended with a group photo with the children and administrators before leaving for the head office in Jakarta.
